Martin Luther King Jr. was one of the main leaders of the American civil rights movement and without doubt one of the most outstanding personalities of the 20th century. His efforts to end racial discrimination through civil disobedience and other non violent means earned him the Nobel Peace Prize.

Apart from racism he also spoke against uncontrolled capitalism, militarism and intolerance in general. Martin Luther King Jr. was assassinated in 1968.
